TUTION, BOOKING TERMS & CONDITIONS

At Method, we try to cover all the booking conditions concerning your tuition here. If you are unsure about any of the following points please email us.

TUITION DOES NOT INCLUDE lift tickets, ski equipment or clothing unless you have booked the appropriate package. Lessons are also non transferable.

With any sport there is an element of risk involved that participants accept as inherent to that sport. Risk is something that attracts many to the sport; others prefer to participate with minimum risk involved. All Method Snow School instructors will ensure that the safety of the group is never compromised. However, accidents can and do happen. Anyone participating in skiing and boarding does so, knowing the elements of risk involved.

Contract and Payment Policy

Here after the person stated on the booking form as the recipient of Method Snow School Tuition will be called the "client". Upon payment of a deposit the client agrees to the acceptance of the terms and conditions listed below.

1: The contract and therefore the client's agreement starts at the point Method Snow School receives the deposit and ends on the final day stated on the booking form.

2: The contract also applies to other person/s the client is booking tuition on behalf of.

3: The client will be required to return (by any means including email) a booking form related to their tuition and agreeing to the booking conditions. This will be done prior to any tuition given to the client or any other person/s the client has booked on behalf of.

PAYMENT:
1: Full cost of tuition is payable at time of booking.

2: If you cancel within 4 - 6 weeks of arrival then 25% of the amount paid will be refunded.

3: Cancellation within 4 weeks of arrival will not be refunded.

4: Please ensure that your insurance policy covers you for cancellation.

Use of Helmets
1: Method Snow School strongly recommends that everyone attending Method Snow School lessons wear a quality standard marked helmet. However, its is not compulsory and is up to the client as a skier or snowboarder.

2: Method Snow School recommends that if you are buying a helmet MAKE SURE it conforms to the standard for snow use. Look for EN 1077 on any helmet bought and ensure they are fitted properly. Fully certified snow use helmets are for sale at the Method Snow School.

3: Method Snow School is not responsible for accident or injury to any client as a result of not wearing a helmet.

Your progress
1: The client reserves the right to inform Method Snow School of the lack of progress during its tuition period. Method Snow School will do its best to amend this.

2: The client accepts that the progress in ability is not solely the responsibility of Method Snow School as it relies on many factors including health, fitness, snow conditions, weather conditions, the natural ability of the client.

3: The client can place in writing any complaints or the lack there of to Method Snow School. Method Snow School reserve the right to deal with each of these complaints on an individual basis, dealing with the complaint in anyway it deems as appropriate to the complaint.

Insurance
1: Method Snow School is not responsible for clients obtaining Insurance. However, Method Snow School strongly recommends that all clients obtain full insurance covering all activities the client intends to partake in.

2: It is the clients responsibility to make sure their insurance policy covers off piste skiing/snowboarding if the client wishes to partake in these activities whilst under instruction from Method Snow School. The client should bear in mind that some insurance companies will only insure of piste skiing/snowboarding when in the presence of a qualified instructor/guide

3: It is the clients responsibility to make sure the insurance policy they obtain is winter sports specific and provides enough cover as the cost of an accident on the mountain can cost in excess of £10,000.

Missed/ Cancelled lessons
1: In the case of a client missing one or more of their lessons, Method Snow School will provide no refunds or lessons to make up the missed lesson period.

2: In cases where unforeseen circumstances such as lift closure, bad weather or resort closure which result in the cancellation or postponement of the clients lessons, Method Snow School is under no obligation to refund money or make up the the lesson time. However, Method Snow School will always do their best make up any lesson lost. In cases such as these Method Snow School will provide a receipt to the client for the purpose of the clients insurance, should the clients policy cover reclaiming costs for loss of tuition due to circumstances under the responsibility of the resort operator/weather.

3: In the case of Method Snow School to postpone/cancel lessons due to illness of staff, Method Snow School will re-schedule the lessons where at all possible In cases where this is not possible a refund for the cost of the cancelled lesson/s will be given.

4: Instructors will wait for 30 minutes for the client after the time stated as the beginning of the lesson/tuition period.

5:It is the clients responsibility to attend the lesson/tuition at the booked time.

6: Method Snow School strongly recommends the client have a mobile phone available before the lesson, this being the best way to to inform Method Snow School that you are running late or are lost. All our instructors carry phones and radios and we will do our very best to help you.

7: In cases where it is impossible to "Make up" the time missed during the booked lesson, as a result of the client turning up late. Method Snow School will do its best to extend the time period remaining in the lesson to the original booked time. This decision is up to Method Snow School and is dependant on other bookings on the day and Method Snow School reserve the right to finish the lesson at the scheduled time as stated on the clients booking form.

8:Occasionally due to extreme weather conditions it is possible that all ski lifts may close for safety reasons with no skiing/riding available. Method Snow School is not liable for these unforeseen circumstances as stated previously in clause 2 of missed/cancelled lessons above. If Method Snow School is unable to run training on snow we will supplement the time period off snow with ski or snowboard presentations if the client so wishes.

9: In cases when the snow conditions are bad Method Snow School Instructors will run sessions to the best of their ability with the prevailing conditions.

Method Snow School reserves the right:

1: To split a group lesson, if the instructor believes that in his professional opinion one or more members of the groups skiing or riding level is well below the rest of the group and is therefore considered unsafe or detrimental to the continued performance of the group. At this time the instructor will use his experience / knowledge to split the session into appropriate levels. This will need to happen within the time constraints of the lessons booked.

2: For all Method Snow School instructors to make decisions on the mountain based on their experience, the prevailing snow and weather conditions and the level, ability, fitness and emotions of each person in the group, for the safety of the group. These decisions are in the best interest of the safety and well being of the group. Method Snow School asks for the client's to please respect these decisions. Method Snow School can accept no responsibility for accident or injury as a result of a client ignoring a decision made by one of its instructors concerning the safety of a group or individual.
