BASI Level 2 Instructor (Formally Instructor Training Course): An internationally recognised teaching qualification. Focusing on all aspects of your technical and teaching skills. Yes it’s a 10 day course but it’s a qualification that covers you to teach anywhere in the world therefore its not to be taken lightly. To attend this course you must have done the old ASBI award with snowboard Coach (or if ASBI done elsewhere, assessed by snowboard coach) or completed the Trainee Instructor or the new BASI Level 1 course above. During the course we cover the the following topics: Technical Snowboarding (practical): Looking at how to technically ride ALL types of terrain from steeps, variable to piste and park. Snowboard instructor technical syllabus (central theme): The demo's or progressions we use to show people how to snowboard. Think back to how you learnt. Snowboard Teaching (practical): Training, analysis and practice of teaching snowboarding using the progression skills from the technical syllabus. Other areas include: Client care, Theory and off-snow content, Safety and fitness for Snowboarding, Communication, lesson planning, Principles and practice of snowboard teaching By the end of the course successful students will be able to ride to the level required and have the knowledge, ability and understanding to teach snowboarding in a variety of situations. On completion of the course students will be issued with a written report. The Snowboard instructor can teach all aspects of the snowboarding central theme up to and including basic turning within the confines of a ski patrolled area. You will receive certification and issue of Snowboard Instructor licence. Duration: 10 days on the mountain with evening lectures
